001collective is a brand-new torrent-based music collective of folk, pop and electronic artists who want to share their stuff online for free. My top recommendations are both of Shelby Sifers' albums, Dustin and the Furniture, Secret Owl Society and Errand Boy. Or you can download tinyfolk or whatever (start with the new stuff). Anyway, check that shit out, lots of great free new music there.

My momma and I recently returned from a trip to Austin, TX with not only 20 extra pounds of carry-on luggage, but also with DREAMS! We went to the Maker's Faire, a Cloud 9 for makers, thinkers, players, and hackers. There we participated in our very first Swap-O-Rama-Rama: "a clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores creative reuse through the recycling of used clothing". After a hard day of "ooo-ing" and "awww-ing", it was official: WE WERE HOOKED.

We would like to set up a Swap in Bloomington. We are now looking for others that are interested. There are many ways to get involved: if you know how to sew and would like to help others learn how - we want you! Also, silk screeners, designers,  and anyone else with the DIY spirit, please contact us! My email (laughing permitted): bear.o.death@gmail.com. Or leave a comment. Or use.. mind communication. Smoke signals? Sure! Messenger pigeons? Acceptable!

Soundtrack to the Revolution!!
So I do a college radio show in Santa Cruz, california Tuesday nights 10:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. and I'm always looking for some good stuff. I pretty much play anything from punk to hip hop and some spoken word. As long as the lyrics have some message behind them that adhere to anti-homophobic/racist/sexist/class-ist/able-ist principles. If you know of some good sounds let me know! djsiren88.1@gmail.com. I also wanna have bands and artists on the show so let me know if you are interested!!

i prefer paypal, but cash and money orders are okay too if you don't have access to paypal.

here it is.

will be our last show.

bands to play:
The Bensonettes

I made this mistake

Nana Grizol

Love Zombie

Vera Maleta

Recovery Period

The Recognition

One Reason

Tuff Luvs

Hot New Mexicans

come out at 2:30pm for a huge slipnslide and other various activities. be here early because the bands start promptly at 5pm. no more late farmhouse time unless you plan on missing some bands, which will be sad. we have to start early because of how many bands are playing..so don't miss it. ITS THE LAST SHOW!!

it will cost $10 dollars at the door. ALL of the money will go to the bands and to cover any expenses set forth..the buttons that you receive for paying, maybe a portapotty, but the idea is that the money pays all the guys for coming and throwing a great party for us. sorry, but this is huge and donations just wont cut it for a show like this.

BYOB and bring a designated driver or plan to camp out. im sure that once the cops get whiff of the show they'll be out in full force. just be ready...be safe! you are more than welcome to come out to the house early in the day and set up a tent somewhere in the yard. WE ENCOURAGE IT..we don't want the party to stop when the bands do. if at all possible make sure you buy cans instead of bottles, its easier to clean and there is no possibility of someone shredding a toe off or a tire getting punctured.

please park on the left side of the road and respect our neighbors. we've gotten this far without one complaint from them...in fact, give them a hug if they happen to be outside..tell them how wonderful it is to be alive.

there will be an awesome bonfire afterwards. so don't pass out too early!

alright. i hope to see you all there. its been really awesome to be apart of something like this and im so glad its lasted as long as it did.
